Siem Reap-Angkor International Airport Completes 22% of Plan

SIEM REAP: The Siem Reap-Angkor International Airport is located in Tayek commune, Sot Nikum district, Siem Reap province, about 51 km from Siem Reap city and about 40 km from Angkor Wat. Construction is scheduled for completion in March 2023.

According to the progress report on the implementation of the Siem Reap-Angkor International Airport infrastructure project, the new international airport being constructed on more than 700 hectares of land has so far seen the gradual construction of runways, drainage systems, bypasses, lighting systems, navigation equipment, general operational infrastructure, airport terminals, and more.

The Siem Reap-Angkor International Airport is scheduled to be completed in March 2023, and will accommodate more than 7 million annual passengers per year. It can also carry up to 10,000 tons of good per year for short and medium term, and 60,000 tons per year for the long term.

The new airport has an investment capital of US $880 million, is ranked 4E, has a runway length of 3,600 meters (and a width of 45 meters), has 38 airplane parking areas, and has a passenger terminal area of more than 80,000 square meters. More than 7 million people can be received at this airport per year, under the 55-year BOT agreement. After this operation is completed, the project will be handed over to the Royal Government of Cambodia.
